Wearing makeup feels like a mighty task these days however, the days I do wear it, it does make me feel more ‘put together.’ With Spring, I’ve been enjoying my makeup collection again which is probably the smallest amount of makeup I’ve had in a while (which is super sad as I just want to get out and back in the department stores) but it’s been nice to dig out my favourites. My current favourite makeup and skincare items for Spring 2021 are varied in price but I’ve really enjoyed these lately especially for the few occasions I bother!

Skincare
I’ve loved using cream and oil based cleansers recently. I’m working really hard on my skincare at the moment as my pre baby glow is hard to come by now! I am trying to double cleanse every night even if I don’t wear makeup as it makes a good routine. I have started wearing SPF when I go out too as I’m now using Dermatica (full blog on that to come) so a double cleanse is a must for that.
Most mornings I use Decleor Neroli Bigarade Hydrating Cleansing Milk [£20.80] which is so light for cleansing but also smells incredible. I love a nice scent for the morning and this keeps my skin hydrated and cleansed! Then in the evening I’m also using the Pixi x Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse which is half oil half cream. I don’t know if I would repurchase this again but I loved the concept and it’s got me into a good routine. I just don’t think this is a wow/game changer product.
Then because I’m using retinol in my treatment, I am using hyaluronic acid serum in my daytime routine after a small cleanse to put moisture back in. I am using a Beauty Pie serum called Superdrops High Intensity Hydration. It basically does what it says on the tin, super easy to use and sinks in really well. I have stopped my beauty pie subscription for a little while but I will definitely look to repurchase this soon. It’s perfect for this awkward stage of central heating dry skin and also for summer hot days.
Makeup
In terms of makeup I’ve been using my Benefit Blush powder palette daily, in fact I haven’t used many other blushers in a long time. I REALLY need to try others to be honest so hit me up with your favourites. Benefit blushers just work! I love Dandelion as a daily blush of pink but I often use a mix of that and Galifornia!
For base I’ve been using Nars Sheer Glow which is actually a repurchase after loving it for most of 2020 (despite not going anywhere!) it really made me look glowy alongside pregnancy and so I’m using it in the hope that it keeps my glow within going! This is such a lovely foundation for combination skin types! Glowy without too much shine.
And of course, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (have I ever tried anything else?!) it is just amazing and is all I need for my dark circles!
I have tried the Beauty Pie foundation recently which is lovely but I don’t know if I’d repurchase this, it’s quite an easy foundation, medium coverage but doesn’t wow me. It’s great to wear everyday instead of the expensive foundations!
Lastly I’ve been using Benefit Gimmie Brow but that has also been replaced by Benefit Microblading pen which is slightly pipping the post as it can provide shaping and definition and lastly a classic, Roller Lash, one of my favourite mascaras on the market.
