Spring is slowly appearing so it’s time to do my seasonal round up for my favourite beauty products. The Spring Beauty Edit includes lots of light, brightening and moisturising products. I have really been struggling with my skincare in the last few weeks as we change into a warmer season yet the wind has been so strong.
I’ve also tried the new beauty trend of Dermaplaning recently which I was intrigued by as my makeup wasn’t sitting nicely at all. I loved the results of the facial. It feels like the type of facial you actually see results from compared to a cleanse and mask style. I already feel like I’ve got a new blank canvas to work on.
Bare Minerals Original Foundation – Fairly Light – £27.00
I’m sad that I’ve just finished using up my Bare Minerals foundation as it’s always a delight to use. This is an award winning foundation and I’m surprised it isn’t talked about more. You simply put a bit of the powder into the lid, use a buffing brush and tap the excess before blending into the skin. You don’t need much of this powder as the blending and warmth of the product creates a flawless base that can be built up that hides blemishes, redness, fine lines and leaves a lovely finish.
I always forget how amazing this foundation is and I’m already looking to repurchase! It lasts such a long time.
Benefit Porefessional Primer – £44 (Value Size)
This has been a re-discovery recently, I had forgotten how much a primer can make a difference. My skin has been a bit oiler than normal recently so this has helped to rebalance it and keep my makeup as matte as it should be. This is such a cult classic and I love using it.
Benefit High Beam Highlighting Liquid – £22
I picked this highlighter up at Christmas and was so pleased to have it back in my collection. This is one of the ‘original’ Benefit Cosmetics products that has been forgotten about in the highlighter hype. It was the OG highlighter liquid and I love using it for a natural glow rather than a glitter ball effect. I use this under and on top of my foundation and it just provides the nicest glow.
Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter – £30
This primer/highlighter/hybrid is a wonderful luxury product. I read that Sali Hughes said that you should always use your luxury products in your day to day makeup routine because life is too short to save things for best. I’ve been trying to follow that mantra and have been using this for networking days or days I’m out with clients. I love this product and already want to try so much more from CT.
Decleor Hydra Floral Cream – £22.50 on offer
So I think this cream has been discontinued which is super sad but there is a similar new product out that seems to be the same. The ever fresh hydrating light cream basically is the old hydra floral cream. This product is such a heavenly spa like cream and moisturises the skin so well without being oily or heavy. I love the scent and texture of this cream…Decleor know a thing or two about skincare.
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette – £42.00
This palette has always been a blogger favourite but the Urban Decay eyeshadows are the only ones I seem to use these days. There is such a wonderful range of everyday colours and whilst the original is my favourite, number three provides wonderful colour and pink hues.
Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede – £47
I actually picked this back up out of my mini collection of Jo Malone products because I am currently reading Jo Malone’s Auto Biography. Whilst she is actually out of the business now, her story really inspired me to pick her perfumes back up. If you haven’t tried her perfumes OR read her book, you must!
L’Occitane Fresh Hydrating Face Gel – £29.00 (full size)
It’s been a while since I have used L’Occitane skincare products but after getting the advent calendar for Christmas I’ve been trying out some of the new products in the box. This gel is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid which provides instant hydration and brings water to the skin. I have had the worst skin this month (see first para) so this has been a lifesaver for moisturising.
