I’ve been a rubbish blogger as of late but I couldn’t let September end without sharing a real career highlight from this month. As many readers know, I’m the editor of Northampton magazine, Northampton Life. I do most of the day-to-day running when it comes to content and sales and as a big fan of supporting local and promoting the best in the county – a collaboration with local gin bar Gin & Temple came about!

After some creativity from both us at Northants Life and the bar – we created the GiNN Collection which was created with the aim of supporting local, promoting food and drink and obviously raising awareness of the fabulous gem of a bar located on St Giles Street.
We created a range of cocktails that they could sell across September using on Northamptonshire gins – since there are so many of them now! We wanted to hit the ground running with this collection so we made a series of videos highlighting the cocktails, the inspiration, gin and food pairings.

Each cocktail had been created with a food pairing in mind (from local Northamptonshire suppliers) which were showcased at our press night! You can find out all about the cocktails themselves on our article over on NL but I wanted to talk about the event mostly!
It was such a fabulous way to showcase what we’d created but also raise the profile of the bar. It has become such a hit with it’s unique selling point of well, an independent gin bar! Nearly everyone can enjoy gin in some way these days, it’s certainly become my staple choice of drink (with lemonade I may add) so it’s the perfect evening out.
The event itself!
The launch night for me was a real career highlight as with the fabulous help of Lauren, Cillian and Max, we created such a great evening. I was so proud to have made this idea come to life and their creativity helped bring this together in such a fun way. It also was such a treat to have local producers agree to work alongside us for this campaign.
On the opening night we showcased the cocktails to our clients, producers, suppliers, members of the Northampton BID and local bloggers. It was a fabulous way to collaborate with other bloggers too, something I’m very passionate about supporting as a fellow blogger too. There are so many I talk to on a daily basis that it was great to meet some for the first time and help support foodies alike.

The collection was available throughout September and I had so many connections tell me they were planning on heading down so it’s been great to help promote them.
After such a successful night, this certainly won’t be our first and last NN Collection – we’re already keen and in the works of planning more!
