Since the age of thirteen I have wanted to write for a magazine or newspaper. English was always my best subject and I just wanted to write about anything I could. Maths and science were just not for me.
When I went to college, I decided to solely put my effort into one subject instead of the usual four or five A-Level topics. So I studied print based media for two years which was essentially journalism with media, radio and writing. Then naturally, university set me up with a 2:1 in Journalism from City University, London.
During college, university and my first full time employment role I kept The Beauty Type going, making it bigger and better all the time. I have been a Northamptonshire blogger since moving to the area seven years ago. My first proper job, when I left university, was in marketing which I actually left after two years. I had the choice of either finding another 9-5 role or winging it and going freelance.
So nearly five years later, here we are. I’m an editor for two local online magazines, one in Northampton and one in Cambridge. They are unique to the market in that we publish online online and use social media, email marketing and our website to provide businesses with advertising opportunities. We cover everything from news, business, entertainment, food & drink and reviews. Check them out below and let me know what you think!
I write about Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire in the publications but am always happy to make a call on where the content is best suited, here or the magazines! Get in touch if you’d like to discuss either!
