I’m back with a beauty type, beauty blog post! This summer has been HOT but as it should be, it’s summer after all! Ever since I became a mum my makeup routine has been about full coverage (because:tired) and quick application! So here’s some of the products I’ve been loving lately to get me from drab to some what kind of fab.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer
I feel so late to the CT party but after using the flawless filter, I decided to give them a visit within Space NK in Market Harborough. There’s not many of them local to me but it was so much nicer to shop inshore than online and the sales assistant helped me find the correct shade for my skin tone which I wouldn’t have picked myself so that really helped!
The Magic Away has a sponge applicator which I wouldn’t normally go for but this is actually quite nice and I only use it under my eyes and around my nose/touch on my forehead, never on spots. It brightens the eye area, blends beautifully and can be built up! The shade is bang on so I love it for brightening my tired eyes!

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
You can’t beat a bronzer, no matter what time of year it is, but during the summer bronzer brings out my freckles a bit more! This bronzer has butter in the name and whilst it’s a powder formula, really is smooth and applies like a dream. I just do a 3 shape on my face up to temples, cheek bones and chin and it’s done! A lovely tan shade that suits my pale complexion. Again, a brand I am late to due to it being a US brand but I picked this up here and I would definitely look at their other products for the face.
Iconic London Sheer Liquid Blush
I was influenced to try this liquid blush on TikTok and honestly, it takes some practice to find the right application to get the TikTok look but once you learn layers is the key, you’re onto a winner. I love the fact it is buildable to create a lit within look and I apply this to the tops of my cheeks near my eyes to create the small illusion of cheekbones. This and the bronzer are a perfect match! The colour isn’t as intense on application as it looks and it’s all about layering but this gives it a chance to work for you! Iconic London is a brand I definitely want to explore more. The colour I have is powder pink which is a beautiful colour for pale skins too! You can pick it up at FeelUnique here.

Clarins Blue Orchid Facial Oil
This oil is a bottle of magic. I’ve had numerous sample bottles of this and when I saw this on a discount recently I decided my skin NEEDED this. It honestly allows you to wake up with a glow, rehydrates and softens the skin. I love applying this in the evening as it’s such a nice treat to add to your routine by massaging in the oil and getting rid of any tension out of your face! It’s one of those products that you just need to try in order to appreciate but I’m a big fan of facial oils as they definitely provide visible results over a moisturiser! Pricey but worth it if you’ve tried cheaper ones with less effectiveness! Get yours here.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Moisturiser
However, talking of moisturisers! This is the game changer that every YouTuber used to rave about. It’s now doing the rounds on TikTok and I thought I best give it a try as I was in need of a new daily moisturiser. This is a fantastic versatile product as it’s great before makeup application, after facial oils to boost the effectiveness and as a mask. You get tons in a tube (mine pictured is 75ml) and I really love this kind of packaging. No scent, easy to apply, would work for probably everyone! It’s a fantastic daily moisturiser and not going to break the bank either.

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil Ultra Fine Shape
This brow pencil is my go-to for everyday brows. Years ago I couldn’t do brow pencils but that was because I was using the wrong one! This matches my hair colour perfectly and provides a soft, natural effect without looking overdone. It’s great for fine lines and defining the arch and is super easy to use, even for a rookie like me! Definitely get yourself matched at a Benefit Counter and you’ll fall in love with this product if you like your brows to look defined but not over-done or heavy!
Bare Minerals Foundation
Bare Minerals is such an underrated brand. Their makeup really does fit the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic because it provides a beautiful finish that makes the skin polished. I use this for everyday makeup but also you can build it up if you want to for a full finish. I also find that this is a lovely foundation as the effect isn’t magnifying like you would presume with a powder. I remember watching QVC years ago and I swear they said the more you buff this in, the warmth of it blends it in even more to create a lovely effect. I picked up a bargain set off Look Fantastic the other day too in the sale and now I’m stocked up to take me into winter too!

So this is my round up for summer makeup and skincare! What’s been in your makeup bag this season? I definitely think these will be following me into Autumn especially the oils and cream products!
