Non Alcoholic Rhubarb Gin from VIBE!

There is a god and their name is VIBE. One of the main things I’ve missed during pregnancy is gin – rhubarb gin specifically. Pre-baby, I had finally found a drink I could call upon at the pub and always be happy with. Whether it’s Warner’s, Whitley Neil, Edinburgh Gin or similar brands, rhubarb gin with lemonade has always worked for me, especially on a hot day! So when Dan pulled out a bottle of VIBE Rhubarb Gin out for our anniversary back in May I was over the moon.

VIBE (Vitality Infused Botanical Extracts) creates their rhubarb gin in a similar fashion to your regular gins however has a few extra selling points even if you’re not looking for non-alcoholic drinks during pregnancy. It is 100% sugar free, gluten free and is vegan friendly! It makes a wonderful soft drink or mocktail addition and makes for what they call a ‘cleaner’ drink.

I’ve found to be the biggest selling point about this V.I.B.E rhubarb gin, is that it genuinely tastes the same as an alcoholic version, much like my Warner’s favourite. I’ve tried a handful of non-alcoholic wines over lockdown and during my pregnancy and whilst some have shone through, many taste like a glorified overpriced grape juice (here’s looking at you Waitrose’s no-alcohol chardonnay). This is quite different as it has every aspect of the rhubarb gin spirit taste so that the only thing missing after a few glasses is the tipsy feeling.

I can’t say for certain that I’ll never drink the alcohol version after pregnancy but it’s a fantastic alternative and when I want a Friday night tipple on a summery day, this with lemonade over ice is perfect. It has a beautiful pink tint to it and the bottle itself is beautiful on display too which makes the experience feel all the more special.

Well done V.I.B.E for making one pregnancy girl very happy again, it was the boost I needed over lockdown! You can pick up a bottle of this online through their website or on Masters of Malt. It’s RRP is £16.99 for a 70cl.
