Cheers, you’ve just found out you’re expecting a baby, everyone else is cracking open the Veuve Clicquot that’s been saved for celebrations! Now you’re wondering when you’ll get to experience the joy a bottle of Prosecco or champagne again. This mini guide features three no-alcohol Prosecco’s which are for pregnant ladies or anyone looking to cut out alcohol whilst enjoying the same flavours!
Scavi & Ray Alcohol Free Sparkling Prosecco Wine
This Prosecco alternative was the first one to capture my eye when on my search. This is made form the Glera grape which they create a Prosecco with so has the hints of wine. This is an Italian wine was the first one I tried out of my selection. What I noticed from this wine was the first sip and scent probably holds the most Prosecco like taste. However you can definitely notice the finish has less of the dry taste you get from an alcoholic drink. Naturally, these drinks aren’t trying to be alcohol, we know it’s not, so it’s fab for pregnancy. It was delicious and had the pop, bubbles and initial taste but after a glass or two, it definitely had a ‘grape juice’ taste to it. I would say this was a great option to try and ticks the box. Nozeco Alcohol Free Sparkling Wine
(Now renamed Nozeco) This one wins points for the catchy name that has made it a bit of a popular choice for pregnant ladies. I actually got massively ripped off on this drink for £10 on Amazon when it’s only £3.50 in supermarkets – so make sure to check out where you pick this up. This is probably the easiest to pick up from the supermarkets currently. When I was under the assumption this was £10, I thought it wasn’t really worth it, however for under £5 this is a fantastic option.
I think if you like elderflower, you’ll enjoy this most. I personally found on my palate, this was too fruity and had a strong perfumed floral scent for my liking however, it is a French wine so that could be why! Dan really enjoyed it however and he likes elderflower. For a budget, this is fantastic and offers the pop, bubbles and experience of a Prosecco so you can celebrate your pregnancy in style with this without breaking the bank. Thomson & Scott Noughty Alcohol Free Sparkling Wine
Update in 2026: I wanted to share that even years on from me writing this blog post back in 2020, I still will reach for this particular wine. I have gifted it to pregnant friends and also drank it as an alternative as a healthy 0% alcohol choice. It is a great option and I really reccomend it, amongst the other three too, but this one in particular. Especially as it’s quite easy to get hold of in Waitrose.
This one tops the charts so far! Thomson and Scott’s Noughty is a sparkling wine with plenty of pop and fizz. This is an organic, Vegan and alcohol free drink so perfect for a selection of tastes including pregnancy or if you’re looking to go lower on sugar. This was created using 100% organic Chardonnay grapes and is de-alcoholised and lightly carbonated. This was a firm favourite from the three I tried for a number of reasons.
This firstly has the look and design of an expensive bottle and whilst it is pricier at £13.50, it is worth the price tag. The pop alongside the first pour makes for a great experience and brings the joy of drinking back for the pregnant gals. This sparkling chardonnay combined a good sparkling wine with the joy of a Prosecco experience. I was thoroughly impressed with the tasting notes from start to finish and the bubbles remained from start to finish of every glass, something the other two bottles couldn’t do. Since writing this post initially back in 2020, I’ve purchased this numerous times for friends who are expecting and all of them love it.

These wines all are quite different from each other and of course, like with all wines and drinks, they will suit tastes accordingly. I found it interesting trying out three quite different options and each bottle made me feel included in Friday night drinks and celebrations in the sunshine. As a pregnant lady especially during lockdown, it’s hard to feel the weekend spirit but this definitely helps.
