Spring Skincare with Soap and Glory & Escentual

Vichy Mineral 89 daily booster review thebeautytype.com lifestyle beauty blogger The Beauty Type

As I mentioned in my recent spring beauty edit, my skin has been having a bit of a paddy at me as of late. It’s gone from being pretty combination at all times to oily and so my whole routine has had to adapt. I’m not complaining however, because I love trying new skincare products and putting some new items to the test.

So I’ve picked up a few new items and was kindly sent the new range from Soap and Glory skincare which couldn’t have come at a better time.  The Soap and Glory ‘Blot Right Now’ is a compact little case full of blotting papers. These remind me of being a kid oddly but I think they’re making a come back as they are so effective at taking out shine on the go. These little case contains thirty sheets and is perfect for chucking in your handbag to minimise shine throughout the day.

Following on from the shine factor, I have always been a fan of La Roche Posay skincare as its so scientifically formulated and really works for my skin type. As I suffer with scarring and large pores I find effaclar duo really helps to reduce that and keeps my skin clear. I’d heard of the Effaclar K which was recommended for oily skins and helps to mattify. I now use Duo in the mornings and K in the evenings and it’s quite the duo of products. Effaclar K helps unblock pores, reduce shine and reduces spots – a winner all round. Check it out here for only £10 at Escentual this month.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is incredible – sadly I only have a tiny sample of this but I could easily buy this if I was feeling speedy. Applied at night (obviously) this serum makes you wake up with glow, fresh skin and really does repair any tiredness on the face. I loved the effects this gave the skin and would love to use more regularly.

The final product of my mini haul is something quite unique. Vichy’s Mineral 89 is a first step skincare serum made with hyaluronic acid and mineralised water. After a couple of uses before bed I see huge improvements in the texture of my skin. It hydrates and plumps the skin and is so lightweight to apply. It sinks in instantly and unlike some hyaluronic acid’s doesn’t leave a sticky residue.

If you need a boost to your skin, improve the texture and help protect it from the outside world then this is definitely worth using. I think this is one fo the second Vichy products I’ve used and I’m very impressed. This was only £15 for 50ml in the Escentual sale so definitely give it a look if you just want a hydrating boost which even 2 litres of water can’t fix.

So most of my mini haul has come from Escentual, their French Pharmacy sales are incredible and you can get some real bargains on best selling products. The sale is on for April so be quick and snap up a bargain.

Soap and Glory kindly gifted the items mentioned in this post but everything else is purchased by myself.
