[Ad, gifted collaboration] Isn’t it always the way that when you live somewhere, you don’t do the ‘touristy’ bits however one of the wonderful things about my job is that I get to try out some of the spots that people in Northamptonshire should know about! Recently, this involved checking out the beautiful Rockingham Castle which is located just outside of Corby.

Rockingham is FULL of history, you can see our full review including a peek into the Afternoon Tea offering on Northampton Life here. Rockingham Castle has so much to explore, it was such a surprise and let’s face it, an instagramm-ers dream location as in the bright sunshine, it has so many wonderful landscapes and gardens to enjoy.

The castle is actually a residential home as well as a tourist attraction so it’s got elements of history as well as a home to it too. I couldn’t resist wearing my new JOY, Louche Unity Bud Print Mini Dress.

JOY, Louche Unity Bud Print Mini Dress.

This dress is my first ever midi-dress, surprising considering how available they are now especially on the high street. I love the style but have always worried that being 5 ft nothing, they would make me look shorter or not suit my shape. I couldn’t have been more wrong. This dress from Joy is beautiful and the slit in the leg allows it to make me look taller because it gives a bit more texture and flow.

The print is beautiful, from far away it could look like the polka dot trend but up close it’s actually a bud print which works really nicely in the summer as a change from floral pastels.

I paired this dress with converse to keep it casual and a brown bag and I really like the casual but dressed up look it provides. I went for a size eight and this worked well for size, it is a touch loose around the chest area but it keeps it flows for summer which is actually much nicer than being too tight and the waist brings you in nicely to show you off too.

You can get this summer midi dress from Joy The Store who have stores across the UK and like I did, you can order online! Delivery is super quick and this dress is only £49 which for the quality and style is fantastic. You can get yours here and I highly recommend checking out some of their other beautiful summer dresses – I basically want them all!

I was gifted this dress to review however, all opinions are my own and the link above is NOT an affiliate link.
