Christmas Sale Beauty Treats

It’s been a month huh, Covid hit our house so Christmas was truly written off. I didn’t even have many presents to open this year so I decided with the money I did receive, I wanted to treat myself to some Christmas sale beauty products that would help me feel more me again. Since becoming a mum and the lockdown, it’s been easy to rush showers, not bother with makeup and give up on beauty but I want to enjoy these little pleasures again. Whilst my makeup collection is the smallest its ever been, I’m trying to start buying the best quality and try some luxurious brands more so than making the stash huge. I’m also trying to feel a bit more confident in my body after pregnancy as it takes it’s toll on you, that’s for sure!

So here’s some products I picked up in the Christmas/Boxing Day sales online which admittedly weren’t super discounted and probably a usual % off but nonetheless, if you need a pick me up this January, why not give these ago!

Elemis Body Oils

There’s a story behind having two of these. I knew I wanted the one that smelt amazing, unfortunately, technology doesn’t offer us scent through the screen and they’re both red… so I purchased the Japanese Camellia Body Oil and then when it arrived realised this is perfect for pregnancy but not the one I was after. So Dan offered to buy me the one I did want instead. Since I can’t go for a luxurious spa massage right now and man do I need it, this is the next best thing. I am using the Japanese Camelia on my stomach as the stretch marks and marks are really starting to get me down and I want to enjoy how I look again. However, I’m using the Frangipani Monoi on the rest of my body especially torso and arms as it smells incredible and is a great way to do a mini massage. Get 10% off these oils with LFWINTER on Look Fantastic (code works at time of writing).

I particularly enjoy warming this up in a cup of hot water (it often solidifies in cold temps anyway) so when you apply it, it’s warming and luxurious. These are pricey but if you’re missing the spa, then tell yourself it’s a treatment at home in a bottle so works out far cheaper!

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

Following my quest for a pick me up whilst also having spare time and being a mum, I wanted something easy to apply for everyday makeup. I rarely wear makeup but know I feel more put together if I do. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue (10% off with above code too!) has been on my list for a while as it seems like the perfect everyday base. Whilst I adore their original powder foundations, I wanted to see what their liquid foundation offering was like. So far, I’m impressed. This is a light weight light-medium coverage but it is great when you just want something to create a base! I really like the glow it provides too as sometimes I need a good pick me up.

Benefit Microfilling Brow Pen in Blonde

Considering I used to religiously get my brows done with HD Brow treatments or at best some threading, I’m really missing having nice eyebrows. They really do frame the face so I’m trying to look after them the best I can until I can get them done again. Benefit recently released a new product to the brow range in the form of a Microfilling pen. Microfilling has always felt a bit daunting to me since I have such fair brows but this pen provides a fantastic light fluffy effect to the brows but also fills in the gaps. I really like how easy this is to use and isn’t like using a sharpie through your eyebrows. I highly recommend this if you’re missing your treatments too!

REN Clean Skincare Skincare Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Salt Anti-Fatigue Exfoliating Body Scrub

With one heck of a name, this scrub is quite the treat. Again, following the idea that I can’t go to a spa, I wanted to recreate a nice effect at home for the moments I do get to pamper myself. This scrub can be applied before a shower to dry skin or before getting into the bath. Either way, it’s so exfoliating without hurting, provides super soft skin and really does relax your muscles/body. I particularly enjoyed using this and then the oil as it made my skin so soft. I even used this on my back and kept thinking how soft the skin felt! I haven’t tried much from REN in the past but I think I’ll be trying more in the future! This is £18 here and I highly recommend it for the spa like experience from a body scrub.
