Bluesky Summer Party Collection 2020

[ad-pr-gift] Before lockdown, I’d pay £20 every 3 weeks to get my gel nails done. It was part of my routine and I basically never had natural nails. I always preferred gel for it’s long lasting finish, the shiny colour and range of choices. However, lockdown meant I had to go back to basics and my nails suffered for it. Then in my inbox arrived the Summer Collection from Bluesky who are stocked on Diva World online. I’ve owned a gel lamp for a long time but hadn’t done them myself in a while. So with time on my hands and a fantastic new selection of colours, I got to work!

The Bluesky Summer collection

Bluesky polishes are known for being a fantastic polish that can be used at home and in trade. I’ve used their polishes before and found the quality fantastic as well as an on-trend range of colours and effects. Diva World sent me the latest collection of summer party colours which would work not only this summer season, but year round too.

There are six colours to the range with all your favourite colours for hands and feet. The names include peanut ice cream (a pastel green), pink martini (pastel/peachy pink), water games (a beautiful baby blue), Lolita (a nude peach), shake it (pastel orange) and beach party (a hot pink).

These colours remind me of the type I’d wear for holidays especially Water Games which is a beautiful blue and perfect for your toes! Some of these colours required more than two coats but I found the pinks were perfect on the hands and applied beautifully!

Bluesky from Diva World

Diva World sent me a few extras to make my gel nail set complete including the finishing wipes, prep items and the base and top coat. Whilst it can feel like a lot of ‘equipment’ to have to do gels at home, the polish lasts significantly longer and with plenty of time on our hands these days, it makes a great excuse to spend some time pampering yourself. Bluesky polish is set to last 14 days with high gloss (which I can confirm is true, not a single chip). It dries under the UV or LED lamp quickly so even the messiest of painters can achieve a salon finish and the wipes leave the perfect shine finish so once you’re done, you can go about your day!

Am I converted?

Whilst I love the ease of popping to the salon and having someone apply my nails for me, with a baby on the way and the risk of corona, doing my nails from home has been fantastic. Not only has it been great for a bit of self care and pampering which I really like as I do feel ‘done up’ when my nails are done but it’s been great for taking time off my phone and digital. I love having my polishes out whilst watching some trashy tv or a movie. The quality of Bluesky has blown me away and whilst I need to practice my application, if I take my time, I can do a great job at it and obviously it saves me money in the long run. Even getting all of these colours plus top/base coats is cheaper than a few month in the salon!

Gels with a baby will be a god send because if I’m half way through application and she needs me I can cure the nail and come back to it when ready, she won’t be covered in half tacky varnish!
