What I’ve been loving for Winter

makeup ive been loving this winter thebeautytype.com the beauty type

Can you believe we’re into March already! January was like the slowest month in the world and this month has sped by. The makeup and beauty theme of this month has been convenience. I’ve moved my makeup set up around at home whilst we’re doing some renovations so I’ve had stuff everywhere! It’s been about having one makeup bag and working with that!

I’ve recently added the highly coveted IT Cosmetics Your Skin but Better CC cream into the collection and as ever, I’m late to this party. I did buy a sample of this a few months ago but it was FAR too dark, whilst I have the lightest shade now, it’s still a teeny bit dark and I would’ve thought they would have made the shade range more diverse. However, I have been loving the finish this gives and whilst I wouldn’t say it was completely full coverage, it has a great glow and look. I’d be tempted to try the matte version when I finish this tube.

For cheeks and colour, as always Benefit Cosmetics has been my go-to. I own nearly all of the boxes of blushes but my favourites have been a flush of Hoola and Benetint on my cheeks. I’ve alternated this with Gold Rush too but Benetint has given me a lovely rosy glow which is quintessentially British which is something I’ve always loved about Benefit products. High Beam has been a lovely treat to enjoy again too for a liquid highlight that provides the most natural glow there is.

Did I mention I love Benefit? I have recently been using the Bad Gal Bang Mascara and Eyeliner which are incredible. Whilst I love ALL of their mascaras, Bad Gal bang definitely provides the biggest thickest lashes, I do like rollerlash for a fluttered look but this certainly wows me. What’s most impressive and I haven’t seen being mentioned much is the pencil liner in the same range. The 24 hour eye pencil is incredible. The intense black, easy to apply and smudge applicator are seriously good and I find this really does last all day. I’m very impressed by this eyeliner. I got this in a set of three products including a blue Bad Gal bang only for £27.50 so I highly recommend getting these together!

My liquid liner of choice this month is a Nyx Matte Liner, I pretty much change up my liquid liner every time I run out and this was a great choice. The liner stays put and the brush applicator makes for precise lines, it’s a wet formula too which I like as it is quite bold.

On the lips, when I can remember, is Bobbi Brown’s pink cloud lipstick which I purchased off a recommendation from one of my favourite bloggers/instagrammer’s, Morgan Alice. It’s a very luxurious lipstick and applies like a dream, I adore the packaging and just think the colour is fabulous for a grown up pink/nude. If you’ve not tried Bobbi Brown yet then this is a great place to start.

And finally, for my face I’ve been loving the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, this cult product has been around for years but I wanted to add a nice mist to my skincare collection. Whilst it’s not got a specific purpose, it’s just a nice to have product to perk you up, feel relaxed or refresh your skin. It’s full of great things like grape, rosemary, rose and mint to minimise pores and prep the skin. It’s great after a shower or basically anyone in the UK who hasn’t seen sunshine in a while haha!

So that’s my go-to makeup favourites, what’s been in your makeup bag this month?
