It’s the final instalment of my ‘Where To Eat In Norwich‘ guide and today’s review is The Waffle House in Norwich. This little gem, also located on St Giles Street not far from Soyokaze, has been on my list for a while. You’ll be surprised how but a few years ago when we lived in St Albans I was desperate to visit The Waffle House, we never made it and so when we visited Norwich it was a must.
Yes, This Waffle House has only two restaurants so is a wonderful independent that was established back in 1978. They specialise in, well you guessed it, waffles but EVERY option you could imagine. The venue itself is a cute cafe with plenty of tables and wonderfully friendly service.

Go hard or go home when it comes to brunch.
The menu is impressive, you can go sweet or savoury or even for breakfast with incredible options in both types be it greek salad, Bolognese or even going sweet with apple, nuts or chocolate brownies.
We went to The Waffle House for brunch after a restful sleep at No 82 Unthank which was only a short walk away. As it was brunch time we decided to tuck into some savoury waffles and we were not disappointed.
I went for the ‘breakfast’ range which is available until 12pm. I had avocado and ham which was smashed avocado, free range smoked ham and fresh tomato salsa laid on a delicious freshly made waffle.
This was a great brunch option, fresh and tasty but also super filling! As there is syrup on the tables already, you can make any savoury option a touch sweeter if you’re a bit odd like me!

Change it up how you want it
Dan went for the Bacon & Banana waffle WITH a side of smoked salmon because he couldn’t choose between the two. This might sound unusual but Dan really enjoyed his selection and yes it left him extremely full.
The banana was griddled so if you’re not a warm fruit fan, this may not be for you. Dan loved it and proved how you can make these waffles completely your own!
We loved these waffles and they were well worth the visit and wait since St Albans. I would highly recommend stopping in here for brunch or something fun for lunch. The drinks list is huge and even includes a fantastic wine, beer and GIN list. We would definitely return or check out the sister St Albans restaurant. You just can’t go wrong and there really is something for every taste bud.

So, what would you have on your waffles?
