As you may have seen recently we had a city break in Norwich and whilst I wanted to share where we ate in one post, it would be the longest post in history. So I’ve decided to review each place separately as they all deserve some love. First up is Gonzo’s Tea Room which is quite the cocktail bar/burger joint. This place screams ‘cool’ and was one of our favourite restaurants whilst we were away.
Gonzo’s Tearoom is situated on London Street in the city. The bar sells itself as a coffee, burgers, cocktails and disco and whilst small – packs a punch when it comes to portion sizes and variety. Dan was eager to have a loaded dripping burger on this holiday so when googling options, Gonzo was a quick choice. You have to check out the menu to see how good it is. The flavours are SO interesting and you’ve got to have an optimistic stomach for these choices.

The Best Burgers in Norwich!
I went for the Pop Secret which was a southern fried chicken burger topped with maple mayo and popcorn. Yes this is taking popcorn chicken to a whole new level and you know what – it bloomin’ worked! This was INCREDIBLY tasty, the mayo made this so juicy and the chicken was in a lovely light coating. I wish this burger was a touch bigger because it was so good I ate it so quickly.

Dan went for the Lost in Translation which contained teriyaki chicken, cucumber, chilli Sala and sriracha mayo. He LOVED this and like me scoffed it down. The burgers were juicy but held together well and the meats were plentiful.

With all burgers, you had a massive basket of cajun fries each which was enough to feed 3 people EACH. I would say arrive here hungry and maybe share a basket each, we could barely finish one each. However, they were great and went perfectly with the burgers – quite moreish.
Now we can’t talk about Gonzo’s without mentioning the decor. This place has so much to look at, from its mismatching furniture, back to the future style decor and video games and retro memorabilia. It is such a fun place to visit and as more of a day drinker than clubber, I liked that it was a relaxed atmosphere during the daytime too.
Burgers start from £11 which with fries is absolutely worth it! Definitely add Gonzo’s to your list if you enjoy a good burger. You can find them at. 68 London Street, Norwich, Norfolk, NR21JT. Check out their website here.
