Ultimate Girl Boss Podcast Episodes

Ultimate Girl Boss podcast episodes - for bloggers, freelancers and the self-employed. The Beauty Type - Northamptonshire lifestyle blog

There are some podcasts in the audio world that are the ultimate girl boss episodes to give you a boost when it comes to blogging, your career, social media and business management. Whilst I could easily rattle off why each podcast is great, I have chosen some specific episodes that really sat with me, made me think, inspired or some that nearly brought me to tears!

One of my five year goals is to be in a podcast or have one at some point. I love talking, I love audio broadcasting and it was one of my favourite subjects at college and university too so I am always fascinated by discussion through voice. It takes the pressure off everything and you just focus on what is being said and not the person who is saying it and the situation around it.

So let’s get on with it! These are my ultimate girl boss podcast episodes!

The Twins That Travel: Episode Ten: The Realities of Self Employment.

I hadn’t read the Twins that Travel blog before but this episode really got me hooked. The twins, Claire and Laura are two UK Travel bloggers who both went self-employed to kickstart the blog. They now explore the world and have a fantastic social presence.

The episode number ten was one I listened to the week I left my job. It truly influenced my decision and helped me understand what I was getting myself in for. So many influencers promote self-employment as a glamorous adventure where you’ll be off to the Maldives tomorrow with a photographer in tow. In reality it’s a pain remembering your receipts, its a tough world to get clients and it’s a reality for so many.

This podcast was just so honest and refreshing and whilst it could put some off, it just helped me feel more educated by what self employment really means.

Ctrl Alt Delete – Episode 80 – Sali Hughes

Emma Gannon is my ultimate girl boss. I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve joined her journey late to the game but I’m pretty happy because she has SO many incredible episodes to get through on her podcast. I have also recently reviewed her Multi Hyphen Method book which was an incredible read.

The reason Sali Hughes episode really struck me as inspiring was the story behind Sali Hughes book creation. She talked about how her friend was about to go into surgery thinking her leg would be amputated but game out finding her leg still attached. To celebrate, she painted her toenails. That is what beauty means to so many people. Ability and ownership and even writing this now, gives me chills. It is such an insightful and inspiring way to be involved in the beauty industry.

Sali has turned into one of my favourite icons from this podcast and I am in awe of her personality and honesty. Emma is naturally a great interviewer and I love everything she produces, she is the the definition of ultimate girl boss podcast producer.

Exciting Emails – Vix Meldrew – Episode 2 – Finding your Niche

I’m sure every blogger that is serious about making something from their blog has read Vix Meldrew’s blog. When she launched her podcasts I was so intrigued. Podcasts about blogging were fairly rare at this point! My favourite episode and one that hit me the hardest (and essentially changed my blogging style for the better) was all about finding your blogging niche.

This episode talks to you about how to define your USP and find out what your specialist subject is. Think mastermind, if you were to be given one subject, what would your blog say about you? It really gets your brain thinking and I had so many ideas following the podcast. I started to steer away from the ‘typical’ niche and honed in on what I particularly wanted to be known for.

Fearne Cotton – Happy Place – Alexandra Shulman

Fearne Cotton was always one of my favourite broadcasters so when she created a podcast it sounded the most natural fit. Her podcast is all about happiness, positivity and mindset. I have loved her episode with Russell Brand but the most girl boss one was with Alexandra Shulman. This episode was all about the editor of British Vogue who has lived a varied career of 25 years at the magazine. I was so inspired by her as an editor who is highly regarded but also about her way of taking on the world and difficult decisions. She seems so head strong and sure of her decisions and I loved her no-BS approach. This is a great podcast for anyone needing a push to keep pursuing their career.

I love podcasts and continually look forward to a long drive to work. They are perfect if you’re bored of the radio and want to utilise some free time better. I found singing along to Ariana Grande in my car wasn’t the best use of my time especially when I spend a few hours a day in my car! Podcasts keep me educated, informed but also inspired. I love girl boss podcasts and the ideas behind success. So many people are pushing their skills and information out in a much more accessible and honest means.
