Looking back at the best beauty products of the previous year is always so exciting. It’s like shopping your makeup collection and seeing what products stayed firmly on your dressing table and those that you knew you could rely on. Last year I wrote a similar post about my best of beauty for 2017 and it was a popular post! I loved putting everything down and seeing what has stayed in the top spot too.

I have found there are a few products I constantly use, everyday in fact, whilst some are there for those special occasions that I’ve come to love this year too. I love these kinds of posts so do comment below if you’ve done a similar round up of your favourite products of 2018.

Skincare

First up, it’s skincare and there’s been a couple of products I’ve especially loved. First up, I love The Ordinary Aha 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This makes me feel like I’ve got some proper science on my skin. It can sting at times but the exfoliating effect is well worth it weekly. The other skincare product that has impressed me the most in 2018 is the Nivea Micellair 3 in 1 makeup remover. In 2018 I worked with Nivea and in that I discovered the makeup remover in the micellar range. This is miracle remover, it takes your heavy makeup off in seconds and doesn’t leave any greasy residue.

The best eye cream I’ve ever used comes in the shape of Origins Ginzing eye cream and is fantastic at keeping my eyes moisturised and less puffy! I used to really worry about my under eye circles but now I’m super relaxed about them because I am strict at applying my eye cream.

Base products

I’ve been trying a LOT of different foundations in 2018. The two favourite that are both under £10 are The Ordinary Coverage Foundation & L’Oreal Infalliable Longwear Coverage foundation. The Ordinary foundation is only £5.90 and incredible for shades and forumulation. This just applies so easily and covers everything I need to. The L’Oreal foundation is beautiful for a fuller coverage and works really well with the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter primer.

That brings me nicely onto the Flawless Filter. This has been my most luxurious beauty product of 2018 and it’s easy to see why it’s so raved about. Until you try this, you don’t really know what the benefit of this product is but using this as a base and under the eyes provides a really smooth, bright and luminous base to your makeup. This looks incredible on nights out and photos.

The Collection Lasting Perfection concealer has been a firm favourite for years. I constantly repurchase this because it works and is so affordable.

Cheek products

Something I’ve really got into this year is highlighters. Whilst I’m not into the highlight your forehead, nose, lip and every other body part, I do like using it on my cheeks. The Barry M liquid chrome highlighter drops are quite the revelation. These drops are GORGEOUS, as soon as I swatched these in Boots, I was sold. I put a couple of drops on my Real Techniques brush and swirl into my cheeks.

Speaking of cheeks and I’m back loving Benefit Hoola and Gold Rush box powders. I received a new box of Hoola at Christmas and will forever use this bronzer as it’s just the right colour and blends wonderfully. The Gold Rush powder wasn’t a blush I expected to love and brought on a whim for a treat, I am so glad I did. It is a perfect colour for me and gives me just the right flush of peachy pink and compliments my skin tone really well. This also smells incredible which is always fun.

Eye products

For eyes and I’m a big fan of the MAC Amber Times Nine palette for day to day wear and I’ve been once again using Maybelline eyeliners daily with Benefit Rollerlash everyday too. 2018 was the year of the brow for me as I finally gave in and used an actual product. This of course, comes in the shape of Benefit products as they are just so easy to use and look the most natural. I’ve been LOVING Brow Zings to shape and define my brows as the wax and powder compact is so useful and easy to use. I also use the Goof Proof Brow Pencil when I need to fill in the shape a bit more, generally after having them waxed.

So that’s quite the list but I couldn’t make it any smaller without missing a great product!

What are your top items from 2018, are there any here that you’ve loved too?
